We’re a small team of three long-time aquarium hobbyists who turned our shared passion for aquatic plants into something more. What started for us as a personal collection quickly became a full-blown passion for growing, propagating, and discovering unique plants that bring life and character to aquariums. 

Over the past several years, we have spent countless hours learning about and growing aquatic plants - not just the common varieties, but the rare and harder to find species that often don’t make it into mainstream stores. Along the way, we found ourselves constantly searching for more interesting plants than what was typically available. Eventually, we realised we weren’t alone, and that other hobbyists and collectors were looking for the same thing: reliable access to truly unique, high quality aquarium plants.

That is exactly why we started Red Aqua. 

The name Red Aqua comes from our appreciation for the bold, vibrant plants that first drew us into the hobby, especially the Echinodorus Iguazu Red on which our branding is based off of. Our aspiration is to offer less common and beautiful aquatic plants that are grown for you and handled with the kind of care we take for our own tanks. Every plant is personally selected and packaged by us, ensuring you receive aquarium ready specimens that meet the same standards we hold for our collections. 

We believe that the world of aquarium plants should be diverse, inspiring and built on shared knowledge, and we’re committed to supporting fellow hobbyists by offering great plants, helpful advice, and honest service. We’re excited to share our plants, and our passion, with you.
